Q: Is it really as good as it seems? Yes.
Q: Can I use a left Bladed saw? The worm drive saws are left bladed saws. You can use it with the smart guide however, you lose the antichip inserts on the base. You still have antichip protection on one side of the cut because of the guide edge.
Q: Why don't you make a base for left bladed saws? With the EZ Smart Guide System, you don't have to look at the blade, and you will not be able to use the new sliding Fence/square on the guide rail. You need your left hand to hold the square and guide while your right hand holds the saw. If you use a left bladed saw with your right hand you can't use the square and you will be at the wrong side of the cut. The EZ Smart is designed to be used by left and right bladed saws. But for now we only make the base for right saws so you don't buy the wrong saw. After we all understand how the EZ Smart works then we will make a left smart base for the left bladed saws and the left handed.
Q:What type of blades should I use? Do not use the plywood blades. Use a 40 tooth, off the shelf, carbide blade, like Diablo made by Freud ~$14.95
Q:What saws do you recommend? Use the one that you feel comfortable with All major brands of right bladed saws work nicely with the smart guide. We like Dewalt, Bosch, Makita, Porter Cable, Ryobi, Festool, or Hitachi, to name a few. It is better if the saw is equipped with an electric brake. If you cut indoors, you may want to have a dust port on your saw to connect a vacuum.

Q:Do cordless saws work with the guide? The cordless saws work with the guide but you have to position the saw not against the alignment ribs of the smart base.
Q:Can I buy extra lengths of guides? You sure can. Find them in the components section of the EZ Smart Guide. We have standard sizes, or will custom cut.
Q:Do I need to buy a different guide rail to use your router attachment? No. use the same guid rails for your circular saw and router.
Q:Do you make systems for high production and commercial applications? Yes. This is done by our commercial and industrial EZ Design team. Please send us your cut list and we'll cut your cutting time in half!
